ETYMOLOGY
Got. igqis (dual), ON ykkr (dual), Modern Icelandic ykkur (plural meaning), OE inc (dual; dative), incit (dual; accusative), OS ink (dual), MHG Bavarian enk (plural meaning), NHG Bavarian enk (plural meaning). The diffusion of the pronoun עץ/ענק/ענקער exclusively in Central Yiddish probably indicates a relatively late migration of Jews into Poland from Austrian lands where the Bavarian dialect was spoken. For example, all Jews were expelled from the Duchy of Austria in 1420-21, and again in 1669-70.
