ETYMOLOGY
{The standardized form יאַסלע seems to be a blending of the Polish and the Ukrainian word. The other variants too, except for דזשיאָנסלע, which is directly from Polish.}
Polish dziąsła; Ukrainian ясна; Belarusian дзясны.
ON jaxl 'molar' ? (apparently not!)

Herzog suggests that /vjosles/ is a hypercorrection of /(d)žonsles/.
