ETYMOLOGY
Beider suggests the word belongs to the Old Czech substrate of Eastern Yiddish because of the closer semantic agreement and because words directly related to Judaism are unlikely to be borrowed. The second -r before the -n is a result of consonant dissimilation.
Old Czech třiebiti 'to clean, uproot' (modern Czech tříbit); cf. Polish trzebić 'to uproot'; Belarusian церебíць; Ukrainian тереби́ти; Russian тереби́ть.
