ETYMOLOGY
Herzog notes that some Slavisms, like בלאָטע and ברעג, appear only in their West Slavic (Polish) form: there is no ✱✱bólete or ✱✱bereg. But the widesrpead /r/ (cf. Polish brzeg) is probably due to influence of East Slavic languages.
